Vokab Kompany was born in San Diego, CA. The group is made up of MC Rob Hurt and Producer Bebe Kidwell aka Buck! They also have other contributors that are featured artists on their album. Key players like Matty Burke of Native Root and Deploi of LOA. Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at PhotobucketRob has been involved in music through most of his life. He played the trumpet through is Jr. High and early High School years giving him the experience to read music at a young age. If Shaft was living in southern California and he invited Bob Marley and Jimi Hendrix over for dinner, QWIKSAND from Orange County would make a groovy side-dish. QWIKSAND are no stranger to party's, especially when it comes to spreading positive vibes with their music. When guitarist Ras, wrote "Concrete Cowboy" about draining and skating a backyard pool while his neighbor was on vacation, little did the band know that in less than 2 years, QWIKSAND would be packing shows across the western region with hundreds of radio stations now behind them.

About Nate LaPointe Band
The Nate LaPointe Band is comprised of players from a strong jazz background, with rootsy and eclectic songwriting and improvisation as its basis. The unique writing collaboration of Nate LaPointe and Tim Campbell creates lyrics from the heart and songs that speak to many. From introspective ballads like "Keep Me By" and "Ill Put You First" to bring-down-the-house rockers like "Take Your Chances" and "Here I Come Again" the band will surely take you on a musical journey that threads through various genres, incomparable in style and talent. A combination of growing up in Laramie, Wyoming and his fathers passion for music, Nate was exposed to a wide variety of musical influences ranging from jazz to classical to rock to country. Ivan Johnson's acoustic upright bass performance along with Nate LaPointe's skillful and passionate guitar playing separate this band into a category of their own. The band's self-titled debut cd was released in December 2005 and they have spent part of the past year touring the west. | | Thursday- | About The Devastators
The Devastators are a soulful mix of Roots Reggae and Funk, combining inexhaustable rockers, steppers, and one-drop drum grooves with the old school sounds of Hammond Organ, Clavinet, and Piano. Thanks to all who voted for us in the 2006 San Diego Music Awards! The Devastators second album "Better Days" is well underway. Despite blazing summer temperatures during the SD heat wave, the band has been hard at work in the Peaks and Valleys Studio. During two sweat filled sessions we layed down the foundations for twelve new songs. Like "Frontline" the album will feature all original music and some dubs as well. Stay tuned to the website for updates. |
